My story in a nutshell

When asked “what do you want to be when you grow up?” my answer was always “an artist”!!

I took painting classes at age 4 and was happily given endless pages of paper and boxes of crayons to use — sometimes even those fantastic Crayola boxes with 64 crayons and the built-in sharpener. WOW!!

Whatever art I showed to my parents was sincerely appreciated and encouraged. My hope is that people everywhere remember to nurture their children this way.

I started creating art for children when I became a parent and was unable to find art to stimulate and delight a child. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. My art career has spanned decades and I am delighted to have had my creations hung in homes, schools, childcare centers, hospitals, and libraries all around the world. I continue to spend time in my studio every day.

My dream

In addition to adding beauty and delight with my art, I would love people everywhere to understand that the most valuable gift for any creative endeavor is confidence. And all of us can build confidence!

Confidence in your ability to solve the creative problem you are working on.

Confidence that allows you to hang in there thru all of the stages of making art, writing or any creative project.

And confidence to believe in the value of your work, to keep learning, and to hone your skills.
